Helping a Great Cause While Rappeling Down a Building

I posted back in February about signing up to do the Over the Edge event. I promised then that I’d only post about it a few more times. So here’s the second post where I again ask for your help.

In case you forgot, “Over the Edge” is a fundraiser for the Special Olympics North Carolina. On October 6, 2012, participants that have raised at least $1,000 will rappel 32 stories off the Wells Fargo Building on Fayetteville Street in downtown Raleigh.

I’m currently at $205, or 21% of my goal, with 3 months to go. I’m not asking for a lot. Give $5, $10, $15 - Whatever you can, whatever you’d like. If you can give, that’s awesome. If you know someone else that might like to give, feel free to pass along. And if you have any great ideas for how I can raise $1,000, I’ll take that too!

Please make a donation by visiting my FirstGiving page:
http://www.firstgiving.com/fundraiser/jessicameadows/over-the-edge-raleigh

You can donate online with a credit card. All donations are secure and sent directly to SPECIAL OLYMPICS NORTH CAROLINA by FirstGiving, who will email you a printable record of your donation.

So whatcha think? Something you would like to do? Something you’ve actually DONE? Steven from Hundred Goals is doing it in St. Paul in September. Check out HIS fundraising page here.

About Jessica

Mild mannered marketing drone by day. Bucket list adventurer by late afternoon. Having first drafted a list in high school, Jessica's list of things to do before she dies has slowly taken over her life and consumes her thoughts. Because of the list, she has traveled to Mordor, plummeted towards the Earth's surface from 13,000 feet up, cavorted with whale sharks in open water, skinny dipped herself into the Guinness World Book, and cursed the day she was born during the last miles of a Marathon. It's safe to say that if Jessica is doing it, it's on the list.

  1. Bummer. I’m getting a server error for that page. Maybe it’s down right now?
