Things to Do in 2009

welcome_las_vegasSince its that time of year to do New Year’s Resolutions, I guess I’ll choose some items off of my list!  By the end of 2009, I would like to complete/work on the following things to do before I die:

#12 Get a piece of art into an exhibition – I majored in Art History and enjoy dabbling in sculpture and printmaking.  I was the executive director of the Johnston County Arts Council for four years, but I have yet to enter a piece of art into an exhibition!

#14 Ride the World’s Biggest Rollercoasters – This one item has 6 rollercoasters, 4 of which are in the US.  I’m going to try to go to Ohio to ride the Top Thrill Dragster at Cedar Point (Fastest, Tallest, Biggest Drop) and the Son of Beast at King’s Island (Longest Wooden).

#22 Go Up in a Hot Air Balloon – There are several places around the Triangle that I could actually do this so no reason not to!

#28 Sky Dive – Yet again, there are several places around the Triangle that I could actually do this

#37 Make fire without matches – a magnifying glass and the sun counts!

#52 Read the All-Time Greatest Books – Read at least 8 on the list

#88 Get Married Unusually – While apparently over 120,000 couples choose Vegas for the destination of their marriage, it’s unusual for me!

#99 Confess – I’m not Catholic and I don’t know how priests feel about Protestants confessing.  I’ll have to find a sympathetic priest that doesn’t mind.

What things are on your list, either before you die OR just for this year?

About Jessica

Mild mannered marketing drone by day. Bucket list adventurer by late afternoon. Having first drafted a list in high school, Jessica's list of things to do before she dies has slowly taken over her life and consumes her thoughts. Because of the list, she has traveled to Mordor, plummeted towards the Earth's surface from 13,000 feet up, cavorted with whale sharks in open water, skinny dipped herself into the Guinness World Book, and cursed the day she was born during the last miles of a Marathon. It's safe to say that if Jessica is doing it, it's on the list.
