International No-Pants Subway Ride (Thing to Do #66: Be Part of a Flash Mob)

After I found out about Improv Everywhere (In the UNC Flash Dance article), I added it to my Google Blog Reader.  Wouldn’t ya know, the next blog post was about an upcoming flash mob; the Annual No Pants Subway Ride.  Although this started in with 7 people in 2002, last year there were 900 participants in NYC and over 1,000 around the world in different cities.  I guess with that many people, its not really a flash mob in that its not a secret.  Now its handled more like a parade.

This year’s is planned for January 10th and guess what?  I’ll be visiting friends in D.C., the site of one of the participating cities last year.  I have no problem going pants-less (what’s the difference in wearing underwear and wearing a bathing suit?), but I’d rather do it with friends.

Who wants to come to D.C. with me on January 10th to ride the Metro pantsless with a bunch of other pantsless people?  C’mon, it’ll be fun! In the meantime, check out the video of last year’s No Pants subway ride.

About Jessica

Mild mannered marketing drone by day. Bucket list adventurer by late afternoon. Having first drafted a list in high school, Jessica's list of things to do before she dies has slowly taken over her life and consumes her thoughts. Because of the list, she has traveled to Mordor, plummeted towards the Earth's surface from 13,000 feet up, cavorted with whale sharks in open water, skinny dipped herself into the Guinness World Book, and cursed the day she was born during the last miles of a Marathon. It's safe to say that if Jessica is doing it, it's on the list.
